Glaucoma
affects approximately 70 million people worldwide. John Patrick
Shanley, Academy Award Winner for Best Screenplay for Moonstruck
and playwright of Doubt, knows what it’s like to live with
glaucoma. He was diagnosed with the disease 12 years ago. Glaucoma
not only affects vision, it can also impact day-to-day activites.
Early
detection of glaucoma is the first step in managing the disease
with a goal of maintaining eyesight, independence and quality of
life. Fortunately for John, his timely diagnosis and treatment allowed
him to continue doing what he loves, which is why he encourages
