After his unit came under enemy attack, Petty Officer Third Class, Peter Herrick, U.S. Navy (Retired) suffered serious injuries that left him paralyzed from the neck down, his left leg amputated and on a ventilator. Paralyzed Veterans Senior National Service Officer Ramond Bruce worked closely with Peter and his family to educate them about the challenges that lay ahead and to advocate for their military benefits so that Peter could concentrate on getting his life back on track.

For over 64 years, Paralyzed Veterans of America has been working to empower the lives of veterans with disabilities-from the Greatest Generation to the latest generation.
